2012-13 Math League Contest Results: Top Performing NYC Private, Public & Charter Schools

by NYC Private Schools on June 8, 2013

The Math League has Math Contests for Grades 4 through 8, Algebra 1 students, and High School Students. Over one million students from the United States and Canada participate in Math League Contests each year. Every contest has questions from different areas of mathematics. The goal is to encourage student interest and confidence in mathematics through solving worthwhile problems. Many students first develop an interest in mathematics through problem-solving activities such as these contests. Schools compete in statewide or multistate league competitions.”

Below please find the 2102-13 results for NYC private, public, and charter schools. For the 4th grade, 5th grade, and Alegbra 1 contests, NYC results are highlighted from the international pool of participating schools (U.S. & Canada). For grades 6-8, and high school, NYC results are highlighted from the New York State pool of participating schools. For the high school results, the April 2013 (Contest 6 — the final 2012-13 contest) cumulative score report is used. Finally, at the end of the post, all of the NYC schools (including which specific grades) who participated in the contest are listed.
