Susan Bodnar, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Susan Bodnar is in private practice on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. She teaches at Teachers College, Columbia University, and the Mitchell Relational Center and is the author of several papers on the interaction between social processes and personality development. She serves as an assistant editor for Psychoanalytic Dialogues and on the editorial board of Contemporary Psychoanalysis, and co-chairs The International Association for Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy’s (IARPP) webseminar series. She lives with her husband, two children and their pets.
Ranu Boppana, M.D., Adult, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Dr. Ranu Boppana is a Board Certified Adult, Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist in private practice in New York, New York. In practice over ten years, she has extensive experience in therapy and psychopharmacology and has worked with a broad spectrum of clients. Dr. Boppana is also a Clinical Instructor at the NYU Child Study Center and the NYU Department of Psychiatry. She is a graduate of MIT and the NYU School of Medicine. Dr. Boppana also did her postgraduate training at the NYU School of Medicine in Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. In addition, Dr. Boppana is a member of the American Academy of Psychoanalysis and Dynamic Psychiatry and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Recently, Dr. Boppana was honored to be included in the Consumer Research Council of America’s “Guide to America’s Top Psychiatrists 2009 Edition.”
Jennifer Hope, Ph.D., School Psychologist
Dr. Jennifer Hope is a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist in private practice in Brooklyn Heights and Manhattan. Dr. Hope received her Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology (School Psychology) from Teachers College, Columbia University. She is currently the Coordinator of Psychoeducational Services at the New York Center for Neuropsychology in Brooklyn Heights, where she provides psychotherapy with an adult population, as well as psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations with all age groups (in English as well as Spanish). She also worked for several years as a school psychologist in the NYC public schools and regional office. Dr. Hope is an Adjunct Associate Professor of School Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University, where she supervises doctoral and masters students, and works as a research psychologist on several research projects at the NYS Psychiatric Institute.
David Markowitz, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist
Dr. David Markowitz is a Clinical Psychologist, the Director of Training at the Mt. Sinai Services Psychology Internship Program, and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. He has private practice offices in Manhattan and Forest Hills, Queens where he provides psychotherapy for adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families. Dr. Markowitz completed his Clinical Psychology Internship in the Child and Adolescent Division at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, and has worked and trained at a number of area hospitals, including New York Presbyterian Hospital, North Shore Medical Center, and the Mt. Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Markowitz spent 8 years working with adolescents and their families on an acute care adolescent inpatient psychiatric unit, where he developed skills in working with teens in acute crisis. He integrates a number of different modalities in his work, including approaches
such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (a skills oriented treatment geared towards helping suicidal, self-injurious, and behaviorally dyscontrolled patients to regain emotional and behavioral equilibrium), and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, an emotion focused depth psychology, geared towards healing early attachment wounds, releasing stultifying defenses, and freeing innate resources for well-being and thriving. He has also been involved in meditation training for over 15 years, where he has learned cognitive, emotion, and somatic awareness techniques that inform his clinical practice.
Courtney Rennicke, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Courtney Rennicke is a child, teen, and adult psychologist in private practice in downtown Manhattan and an adjunct faculty member of Teachers College, Columbia University, where she supervises clinical psychology doctoral students. Dr. Rennicke received her B.S. from Cornell University with a major in Human Development and Family Studies with Honors for her on-site research of the emotional and systemic impact of trauma on an intensive care burn unit. Dr. Rennicke completed her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Columbia University and her pre-doctoral internship at Columbia University Medical Center in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She has worked with children, adolescents and families with experience in treating depressive, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity, posttraumatic stress, and disruptive behavior disorders, as well as mental health issues secondary to bereavement, adoption, and medical conditions. Dr. Rennicke is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, collaborative problem solving, parent infant psychotherapy, and dyadic developmental therapy. She has co-authored professional articles on trauma and resiliency, and bipolar disorder and creativity.
