Focus On Chabad Upper East Side Preschool

by NYC Private Schools on April 22, 2012

Another Jewish preschool to take note of is Chabad Upper East Side. More than just a preschool, this is an Upper East Side Jewish cultural and educational center with services for all ages and maturity levels. The preschool, however, is set aside just for the young children who are in need of early Jewish training.

The chabad has a resident synagogue and mikvah. There are also adult education classes and services for young adults. But let’s talk about that preschool.

The Chabad Upper East Side Preschool is rooted in the Jewish tradition. It is a small school whose mission is to introduce young children to Jewish traditions and values while encouraging them to develop a lifelong love of learning. Children learn to socialize while their self-confidence and self-esteem are growing in a safe environment.

Children are taught important concepts such as:

  • Respect for others
  • Kindness
  • Being a member of community
  • Tzedakah
  • And practicing Mitzvot

Jewish observances and holidays are integrated into the curriculum as well and children at chabad learn through interactive play and socialization. The teachers in the school are either parents themselves or come from a close-knit family. They bring their own creativity to bear in teaching young children how to grow and develop as young Jews living in a diverse society.
