Lucy’s Playgroup is a limited part-time day care for children located on the Upper West Side in New York City. Children ages two through four are accepted in limited groups of no more than six children at a time. The hours are 9am to 1pm daily, Monday through Friday; Snacks and lunch are included.

The activities stressed at the playgroup are simply playing. There are daily nature walks to nearby Riverside Park, weather permitting. Arts and crafts, baking, singing and story time are also important factors. Other important factors that Lucy’s stresses is for children to learn to both socialize with other children as well as to listen to another adult; this will prepare them well for their future time in school. For many children, a playgroup of this nature is their first social activity outside of their families and Lucy’s Playgroup works to make it a positive experience.
