dominican academy 300x199 NYC Private Dominican AcademyThe Dominican Academy is a NYC Private School with a rich history of academic excellence, with a challenging curriculum taught at only honors levels.

Established in 1897, Dominican Academy is named for its founders, the Dominican Sisters of Saint Mary of the Springs. The Dominican Sisters continue to sponsor the school. It is a private Catholic school with very high academic standards; all classes are honors, advanced, or Advanced Placement level. This school has a very high reputation with 100% of each graduating class attending accredited four-year colleges and universities.

The Dominican Academy enrolled students in grades 9-12, and provides a “sneak peak” for 7th graders who are beginning their search into the right Private School to apply to in the coming years. The “preview” of the Dominican Academy is being held tonight.

Open House Tonight for 7th Graders

ATTENTION 7TH GRADERS!
You are probably starting to narrow down the high schools you are considering. We know that fall is a very busy time for eighth graders, so we have scheduled a special Sneak Peek Open House for 7th graders on Tuesday, April 28th at 4:30 P.M.

The academic requirements at Dominican Academy are challenging. The curriculum is carefully planned to fully prepare every Dominican Academy graduate for college.

The Facts on the Dominican Academy:

With a total enrollment of 230 young women and 28 faculty members, and Student to Teacher ratio of 8:1, an intimate learning environment is available.

This is an all-girls Roman Catholic Preparatory School. The DA is a member of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) and has a school calendar of 176 days with 6 hours of class time per day.

In addition to the many clubs offered, such as Drama, Dance, Art, Computer, Latin, Mock Trial and Science, the school offers a summer trip, which is scheduled for Paris and London this year.
