Focus On Our Lady Of Fatima School

In the Jackson Heights neighborhood of Queens, NYC is a Catholic private school by the name of Our Lady Of Fatima School. Run by the parish of the same name, Our Lady Of Fatima educates nursery school through eighth grade.

Administrators see as their first mission to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Education at Our Lady Of Fatima has the education of the whole person as its end goal.

Mandatory daily classes include:

• Religion
• Math
• Science
• English / Language Arts
• Social Studies
• Literature

Other curricular offerings include art, Spanish, music, computer literacy with Internet training, Library with Internet access, and physical education.

For extracurricular activities, students have many options as well. These include weekly after school band practice, choral programs, seasonal outdoor sports such as flag football and softball, and yearbook. Boys and girls can play sports and many of the programs are grade-specific.

Students in band, choir, and who participate in pageant and play performances will also perform publicly throughout the year.

Special classes are offered for students who need them, including an after school resource room, remedial academics, and IEPs.

Our Lady Of Fatima offers before and after school programs, and there is summer school on offer as well. Academic competitions include math and spelling bees, science fairs, essay contests, art and poetry contests, and a whole lot more.

Students are often conferred with honors and an Honor Society is open for upper grade students as well.

Students at Our Lady Of Fatima School have plenty of opportunities to achieve excellence during the school year.
