The Barrow Street Nursery School is a Pre-K program designed for children aged 2-5. The curriculum at Barrow Street Nursery School believes in taking advantage of the magical formative years in a child’s life.

One of the most passionate concerns of any parent with a child in a Pre-School program is what kind of Kindergarten program they will continue on to. The Barrow Street School addresses this situation in a number of ways. The school helps prepared families for continuation in a number of local public Kindergarten programs in addition to Private Schools and public Gifted and Talented programs. The school has an ERB tester assigned to them for –n-school testing to keep students from having to go outside to testing appointments. In addition, th eschool offers workshops to help parents understand the skills necessary for ERB, Stanford Binet and OLSAT assessments.
The Barrow Street School calls it the Exmissions process.
Our director provides guidance and advice to the parents about the public and private school kindergarten process. Throughout the school year, teachers make observations to best identify each student’s strengths and learning styles to help determine the most appropriate placement for each child. Testing for private school admissions is done on the premises. Barrow Street Nursery School is a member of the Early Childhood Records Bureau (ERB).
Most of our families live in the zone for either PS 3 and/or PS 41. We also have parents who are interested in applying to private schools as well as the gifted and talented public school programs. At BSNSGH we work very closely with our families who are participating in this process. Our work begins in the spring of the three’s program.
