Shining Stars Preschool Corp is a play-based preschool in the Bronx that accepts children from the age of 2 until the age of 6. Their regular school program is offered from September through June with a summer camp during the months of July and August. Full-day sessions are from 8am until 6pm and half-day sessions are from 9am until noon. Shining Stars Preschool offers flexibility in their schedules on request.
While Shining Stars Preschool is primarily play-based, a great deal of learning still takes place. The school teaches through play and allows each child to be an individual. Both individual and group play is encouraged. Children play in a safe, supervised environment that allows both fine and gross motor skills to develop. In addition to indoor play areas, Shining Stars Preschool also has outdoor play areas available. These play areas ensure that children get plenty of exercise.
Children are taught important social skills during their time at Shining Stars Preschool. They learn appropriate behavior, make friends and learn how to display socially correct behavior. Lunch and healthy snacks are provided and parents are encouraged to volunteer at the school.
A unique feature touted by Shining Stars Preschool is their onsite webcam. This camera allows parents to log into their system and view their child while at the school. This allows parents to check on their children and keep themselves updated as to their child’s activities. This webcam system also provides added security for the school, providing state-of-the-art monitoring of the entire facility.
