by NYC Private Schools on September 4, 2012

St. Bartholomew Community Preschool is a program that accepts children from the ages of 2 years and 6 months until the age of 5. Located in mid-town Manhattan, the school has been open for over 30 years. St. Bartholomew Community Preschool is affiliated with the Episcopal Church of the same name; all faiths are welcome and diversity is encouraged. Many of the graduates from St. Bartholomew Community Preschool are accepted into NYC’s best public and private schools to continue their education.

St. Bartholomew Community Preschool philosophy “is based on fostering a love of learning, while celebrating and embracing each child’s uniqueness.” Children learn through play, stories, skits, music and art. Each classroom has play areas as well as art and story areas so that children can feel comfortable.

The school has an extensive library with stadium seating, making it possible for all of the children to see the pictures in the story books read to them. The school also has a heated pool and children can take both swimming and after school tennis lessons. There is a large multipurpose room that allows for weekly dance/movement classes as well as yoga.

In addition to large indoor play areas, the school has a large outdoor play area located on the roof. This gives the children plenty of room to run, skip, hop and jump, developing their gross motor skills.
