Top 4 Reasons to Send Your Child to a New Private School

by NYC Private Schools on October 4, 2008

Leaving SchoolThere are many reasons to consider a newly opening private school for your child. Remember that just because a school is new, it doesn’t mean that it was thrown together with some mobile classrooms and a mission statement. Millions of dollars, boards of directors, top educators and community activists have gathered together to form this new school. It is a project very far removed from quick afterthought.

1. New private schools have a renewed dedication and passion for what they are doing. Everyone from the board of directors to the Para-educators have put countless hours of time and effort into creating what they feel is the best environment for your child. They are not weighed down by the past or bound by old traditions.

2. New private schools, especially in the traditional market in NYC, cannot rest on their laurels and accomplishments of the past. They must create those grand moments now. Your child has the opportunity to be a part of a new tradition, the history of the future.

3. While a new private school will certainly need to fill their share of seats, they will not accept just any student who applies. The playing field will, however, be a larger one thanks to the increased availability. The bottom line is, your child probably has a higher chance of being accepted at the start rather than waiting a couple of years when the school is more well known and the applications are more numerous.

4. Your child will have an opportunity to reinvent his or herself in a new school, with a new diverse culture and group of friends. Growing children will be able to shed the image of a gawky early childhood and create a new image and find new confidence.
