Trinity Parish Preschool is a play-based Manhattan preschool that accepts children from the age of 6 months until they are 5 years old. The school is open from 8am until 6pm Monday through Friday and parents have the option of sending their children for 2, 3 or 5 days per week. Parents are encouraged to volunteer at the school, chaperone field trips and visit their child at the school whenever they wish. Parents also receive a newsletter from the school. Parents are expected to supply meals and snacks for their child. Even though Trinity Parish Preschool is affiliated with the Episcopal church, children of all faiths are welcome and diversity is encouraged.
Trinity Parish Preschool focuses on the whole child, and each child is encouraged to grow and develop in a natural manner. Children learn basic social skills such as listening, sharing and playing with others. Trinity Parish Preschool provides a safe and nurturing environment for children to play and express themselves as the school works to help them achieve their full potential.
Art is very important at Trinity Parish Preschool and the teachers focus on child-centered art. Artwork is age appropriate so that children can create it without adult assistance. This builds self-esteem as well as encouraging creativity.
To help with the development of coordination and gross motor skills, there is ample outdoor play at Trinity Parish Preschool. Children are taken to local parks daily, weather permitting and there is vigorous indoor play when the weather doesn’t permit outdoor play. There are regular nap times and children are encouraged to bring a favorite stuffed animal to sleep with during this time.
