World Class Learning Academy (WCLA) makes you a three-part promise. Your child will love to learn, achieve amazing results, and “be ready for anything.”

Falling into the international school category, World Class Learning Academy is set up for children ages 3 through 11 (British Nursery to Year 6; US Nursery to 5th Grade). They are located on East 2nd Street on the Lower East Side and will open in September 2011.

The curriculum at WCLA is based on the English National Curriculum and the International Primary Curriculum. In the early development years, ages 3 through 5, students receive instruction in 6 key development areas:

  1. Personal, social, and emotional development
  2. Communication
  3. Language and literacy
  4. Mathematical development
  5. Knowledge and understanding of the world
  6. Physical development and creative development

In the early years, ages 6 through 11, students get a progression of learning in several key core academic disciplines. Students are given mileposts and strive to achieve them. The end goal is to prepare students for further growth and preparation for middle school and high school.

The World Class Learning Academy is a member of the World Class Learning Group (since 2008, backed by Sovereign Capital, a private equity investor), an international body of schools with British School campuses in Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Houston, Washington D.C., schools overseas, and now in New York City. With 1,000 schools around the world and 25 years experience in education, World Class Learning Group has an established system that you can count on.
